SAMSSA is a specialist program of CRCC providing counselling, advocacy, and crisis support to male victim-survivors of sexual violence aged 16 and over. The service is available to male victim-survivors in the ACT and surrounding region, and to their supporters.
We understand that male victim-survivors face unique challenges when seeking support, including social stigma, cultural expectations, and the silence that surrounds men’s experiences of sexual violence. Despite these barriers, we encourage all male victim-survivors to reach out. Whether your experience was recent or many years ago, our specialist service can support you.
SAMSSA is accessed through the Canberra Rape Crisis Centre phone line. When you call, a crisis counsellor will listen, gather some information, and connect you with the SAMSSA program.
