CRCC provides free, ongoing, trauma-informed counselling for people impacted by sexual violence.

Counselling is something people often come to when they are ready – which may be soon after an experience of sexual violence, or many years later. There is no time limit on healing, and there is no time limit on accessing our service. You don’t need to feel “ready” to call us. You can call the crisis line first, and decide together whether counselling is something you would like to explore.

Who counselling is for

  • Adults, young people, and children who have been impacted by sexual violence – recently or in the past
  • Adult victim-survivors of childhood sexual abuse
  • Non-offending parents and carers of children who have been impacted by sexual abuse
  • Partners, family members, and friends supporting a victim-survivor

What to expect

Counselling at CRCC is client-led. You set the pace, you decide what you want to talk about, and you decide how long you want to engage with the service. Our counsellors are specially trained in responding to sexual trauma, and they are there to walk alongside you, not to direct you.

All counselling is confidential. The limits of confidentiality such as situations involving a risk of serious harm, will be explained at the beginning of your support.

How to access counselling

Counselling is accessed through our phone line. When you call, we will listen, gather some information, and connect you with our counselling service.
